I must add "amen" to the comments about SGCradio & their super tech
Yes, a good ground is essential for hf ssb operation.
I do not work for them, but I would recommend the SGC 2000 150 watt hf ssb
xcver. I have one in my truck for ham use & it just superb, especially when
used with SGC's automatic antenna tuners.
I have been a licensed amateur (ham) radio operator for 24 years &
recently received the commercial license that will allow me to be a
shipboard Radio Electroncis Officer or "sparks".
If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, having a professional
technician do it for you will prevent a lot of headaches down the road & is
worth the fee the tech will charge.
