How about a National Sea Scout Event?

The time has risen for me to make another contribution to the Sea
Scouting movement with this letter. The last heavily debated, this I hope to
be universally agreeable. Every year Ship 10 Miami out of Miami, Fl travels
across the United States to San Diego, CA in November for the Southwestern
Rendezvous and the Nygard Regatta in Maryland in May. We make this trip to
compete against Sea Scouts all over the nation and create friendships with
fellow Sea Scouters around the U.S.
A few months ago I read an email about someone proposing a national
sailing regatta for Sea Scouts to come and race one design boats against the
nations best Sea Scouts. This being accomplished by having local
Championships then regional then National. What happen to this idea? Has
anything been done? I believe that Sea Scouts around the U.S. would benefit
greatly from such an event. The opportunity to create contacts and
friendships with youth that have similar interests will solely be beneficial
to all surrounding parties. The Boy Scouts have a National Jamboree, The
Order of the Arrow has NOAC, How about a National Regatta or Rendezvous? What
are your thoughts on the subject?
