I'm answering to you privately since I think you meant for your message to be
private. I am copying Jimmie and Charles, as well as John Severino and Don Goff
who took on Top Gun this year.
My sense (and I'm not the one who will be making the final decision) is that
we probably will be holding Top Gun again next year. That of course is dependent
upon the Navy Memorial Foundation's willingness to go along again, and the
National Committee's and Charles' concurrence.
I know that both John and Don felt that this year's event was an unqualified
success, though I think they both have ideas about how it can be made even better
next go 'round. I believe that they are planning on having a poste mortem on
this year's event sometime in the next week or so, so I'm expected to hear more
on this subject.
While it is ideal if we can avoid scheduling conflicts between Seal and Top
Gun, we may come to a point where that won't be possible to completely deal
with. Just now, yes, you're probably right.
That's a long answer to a simple question. Did that give you what you
PS: Cristyn completed Ordinary and received it at our July 7th BOH. She says
that she's very interested in going to Seal next summer, which would be good
timing for her (incoming junior then). She's really hoping to do it on Seawolf.
