I don't know about East Coast or West Coast ships, but here in the
Sam Houston Area Council (Houston, Texas and thereabouts) we wear
a "tropical" white uniform with a white shirt with Sea Scout patches
and white shorts. The shirt has epulets and we wear the green loops
(except for one ship that decided to wear blue loops, it's not my
problem) for regular ship stuff and at least a few of us wear the white
uniform with silver loops in our unit commissioner and venturing
roundtable comissioner roles. I have seen a fellow whom I seem to
recall as being a DE in the Bay Area Council, wearing the same white
uniform with silver loops.
We have another ship that wears what looks like Navy Dungaree uniform
with Sea Scout patches. There is a ship in New Mexico that wears
black dickies with Sea Scout patches. I have seen Sea Scouts wear
Explorer Green with Sea Scout patches.
I think the Venturing uniform or Khaki shirt/Green Shorts with
Sea Scout patches and silver loops makes perfect sense for
