Separation of church and state? The people who are
propogating this argument should get jobs so that they
don't have so much time on their hands.
I would think that every American citizen would be
glad to invest in the youth of America. I believe
that government should put a little money into
positive youth organizations. If they put only a
fraction of the amount OF OUR MONEY they put into
supporting criminals in prison, our youth would be
happier, society would be better, and our prison
population would decrease! We would actually PREVENT
crime by exposing would-be criminals to positive role
models before they go down the wrong road. Changing
the course of just one youth would save more than
$20,000 per year to house a prisoner plus all the
court costs, costs incurred by the police force,
economic loss to citizens due to crime, loss in taxes,
and the list goes on...
The Boy Scouts of America has a proven track record.
So do many other organizations such as Girl Scouts,
the YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, and others. We
actually do help the youth of America make good
ethical decisions. By doing so, we help these youths
become good citizens. Good citizens pay taxes and are
not typically burdens on society.
A fundamental belief in God? Wasn't our country
founded on this very same belief? All my currency and
coins say so. I shouldn't say this too loud, the ACLU
might go after the U.S. Mint next...
