Alphonso and the Slidell Slicker are correct on the younger the better an=
the retention and involvment of youth in programs. Junior sailing progra=
usually begin when youth are 8 or 9 years old (a little too young perhaps=
even for Alphonso) and continue until they are 18. If youth are to be
retained in a program, they have to be recruited before they are 14 years=
old; 12 and 13 should pretty good to me.
