As Dennis R. Hays indicated: "There are many successful ships operating
with boats larger than 50'. Larger boats open opportunities for
extended cruising outside local bays and rivers. [...] There is nothing
wrong with setting your expectations high and sticking to them."
We use both a 75' and a 45' power vessel plus several medium sized
sailboats. Our small 12' to 20' sail boats are popular and fun BUT the
most fun and educational achievement are gained in our larger vessels.
Cruises in the "biggies" add something to the program that sailing with
a crew of one, two or three do not.
