I polled the list for ideas on alternate mounting locations. By talking to
people locally, there were 2 choices:
1. Exposed location on pilothouse roof (cabin top). Exposed to sun,
rain, weather. The local "opinion" is that this type of installation causes
more wear & tear on the unit, possibly leading to failure.
2. Sheltered location, side of superstructure, about 7 feet above
reduced exposure to weather.
BTW, having been told about Mike Plant <sp?> and the loss of the sailboat
COYOTE, I would not consider mounting it below.
