"POSTSCRIPTS" ARTICLE: JON FULKERSON ELECTED PRESIDENT
Thursday night, Jon Fulkerson, of Eastern Arkansas Area Council,
Arkansas, won the election to become the National Exploring President. In
campaign, Jon had emphasized the need to improve communication between
individual Explorers, theiri units, and their representatives. During the
transition to Venturing and Exploring, he plans to promote the programs
help develop their potential to the fullest.
Fulkerson has served as president of Law Explorer Post 101 of Paragould,
Arkansas, and also serves as Vice-Chairman of Program for the Eastern
Area Council Explorer Officer's Association. Jon holds the Exploring
Leadership Award and the Exploring G.O.L.D. Award. He is an Eagle Scout
member of the Order of the Arrow.
The new National Exploring "cabinet" is comprised of:
Jon Fulkerson, President
David Ellison, Western Region
Chad King, Central Region
Gavin Svenson, Northeast Region
James Wells, Southern Region
With the election of Fulkerson, James Wells, the Southern Region
becomes the new representative for that region. According to election
officials, not only was this a high voter turnout of forty percent, but
is also the first all-male cabinet in many years.
