Our Ship (as well as many others) just returned from the Ancient Mariner
Regatta (AMR) in San Francisco. . .
Just thought that the Challenger of Redwood City CA deserved some
A few short months ago they obtained a 82 foot vessel located in Port
Hueneme CA. I personally saw the vessel every few weeks since it is in
our area and they had quite a bit of work to do in order to get her
ready to make the 300+ mile trip home.
During this time they drove 5 hours each way nearly every weekend and
then still managed to take top honors in the spring regattas in the Bay
Area. And . . . top honors at AMR!
I think it is safe to say that Sea Scouting is alive and well in the
Skipper Layne Davis and the delivery crew surely were proud of the crew
and knew that the 36 hour delivery "adventure" was well worth while.
(personally I think that you are insane!! But, of course I have been
accused of the same)
Hats off to the crew and officers of Challenger for a job well done. . .
