The following message was distributed yesterday by Bill Rogers, the
current National Sea Exploring Director, to the National Sea Scouting
Committee. I am unclear when Mr. Harris will be 'on board.' I am sure
that, in the coming months, we will all look forward to working with Brad
as we have for the last nine years with Bill Rogers. Welcome aboard, Brad!
I am pleased to announce Bradley D. Harris has joined the Venturing
Division as the new Associate Director, Venturing and will serve as the new
National Sea Scouting Director.
Brad began his professional Scouting career in 1981 as district executive
in Eugene, Oregon. In 1984, he became district executive, Walnut Creek,
CA, and in 1986 he was promoted to senior district executive,
multiple/person. In 1987, he became senior district executive,
multiple/person, Denver, CO. In 1993, he was promoted to field director,
Denver, CO. Since December of 1993, he has been serving successfully as
assistant Scout executive, Eugene, Oregon.
Brad, an Eagle Scout, received his Bachelor of Science degree in recreation
management and youth agency administration from Brigham Young University in
Brad and his wife, Sandra, have six children, three boys and three girls.
