How is using higher quality rank insignia "unofficial"? We still turn in
advancement reports. But, instead of purchasing the poor quality insignia
from the local scout shop, we had our own made. It's the correct color to
match the dress blue uniform and the detail is superior.
I'm missing your point on how this is not a good thing to do.
