I'm new to the list, so I suppose an introduction is in order.
My name is Darby Crouch. I am an Eagle Scout from Eugene Oregon. I first became involved with sea scouts at the young age of 19. This
was with a short lived ship that I helped start. It lasted about a year and a half and died.
While I was in the Army, I served as the skipper of Ship 8 "Wavedancer" in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This was not a terribly successful
unit, and died about a year after I left.
Most recently I am with Ship 282 "Seawolf" out of Eugene Oregon. This ship is going well, and it appears that it will succeed.
I have recently been appointed as the Commodore. We haven't had a commodore since the early 70's. So I don't have anyone to tell me how
to do it. Basically I am looking at designing a program from the ground up. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I am hoping that I will be able
to get advice from those of you who are doing it now.
Our fleet has three working ships and one that appears to be either dead or hibernating. I would certainly appreciate anything anyone
has to offer in the way of organizing a fleet. In fact, if any of you have writen documentation from your own council, I would certainly like
to have it. Anything to point me in the right direction.
Well, this introduction is getting a bit long, so I'll sign off for now. Thanks.
