Thank you Bruce, your explaination is crystal. I asked for one from a source
above supernumerary and got it. The photo was in a scout publication and was
chosen because of strong financial support of the program.....ie. 'bought' ;
therefor , may I place ident. logos advertising products and services in my
ships newsletter,on our shirts, or on our hull and sails to do them a service
for their contribution?
Seals are a highly specialized form and only effective in their own
environment (though even then at some risk). Out of that environment they are
weak and ineffectual and at great risk.
In the eyes of many who have seen it the photo implies over specialization
therby making it less attractive to a broader base potential members. I'll
fully admit that Sea Exploring isn't for everybody; I'd hate to see it become
not for anybody. It is also true that any help offered to a ship is good.
Demi a Sea Explorer? Who knows? Perhaps we can make her 'honary'. Even the
all male ships might change their mind .
