I have often found that it is not a national policy of the BSA that
seems to confuse matters, but, local leadership that makes a stand for
one reason or another. I would not suggest you withdraw from the BSA
Sea Scouts, but rather, seek a higher authority within the BSA
leadership to help in your efforts. I recently formed our Sea Explorer
unit and have not experienced any of the problems you describe. I agree
with you sentiment, it is all about supporting our youth.
