Fellow Sea Scouters:
As you are probably aware, Sea Exploring has quite a large exhibit at
the up-coming National Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. The
principle reason for having an exhibit at the Jamboree is to interest
people in joining Sea Exploring.
While our primary focus will be to make people aware of Ships back
home, we will also be working with individuals who are interested in
starting new Ships when they return home. This is where your help is
We will be providing new Ship organizers with packets of information
and forms that should make the task of starting a new Ship a little easier.
As we all know, starting a new Ship takes a lot of time, and having help
nearby will increase the likelihood that the new Ship organizer will
We would like to have volunteers who will be available as resource
people and mentors of new Ship organizers. If you are interested in

1. We are not limiting this request to those with email. Please distribute
this to anyone you feel would be good at this and have them (or you) get

2. You can stipulate how wide an area you are willing to be a resource
person for. The most likely areas would be for several states, a single
state, a portion of a state, or a single council.
