Each year Ship 303 sails from Freeport, Texas, for a 9 day summer
cruise. This year, as usual, we are having a hard time finding a
sea worthy female advisor to help us comply with the BSA rules for
leaders when there are female members aboard. If you are an
adventurous seaworthy woman, could take some time off to sail in
July and would like to experience the awesome beauties of "the
Texas Riviera", then we need to talk.
We will sail aboard our fantastic 42" custom Shad Turner designed
offshore racing sloop "Rushin'Wood" with a crew of 9. This is some
fine boat! The departure date is Friday, July 11, with our first
stop 200 nm south at Port Isabel, TX. After a couple of days on the
magnificent beaches of South Padre Island, we will cruise back
north under a full moon with stops in Port Aransas (for the beaches
and surfing), Corpus Christi (visiting the Texas Aquarium and the
Christopher Columbus Ships) and possibly Rockport (for the Texas
Maritime Museum). Then it's back to Freeport in our last overnight
leg. During the trip we will have great fun, cover lots of
advancement and the material in the S.E.A.L. course.
Anyone interested should call for more information and a phone
interview. The total cost is $150. You must be a registered Sea
Exploring leader and active sailor with a ship. Our crew is very
experienced and can handle the boat, but all crew are required to
participate equally in all ship functions.
If interested, call Roy Mast at work 409/848-4931 (week days) or at
home 409/297-4744 (evenings). There is one crew position open and
it will not last long.
Yours in Sea Exploring,
Shipper, SES 303
