This and that

Thanks to all of you who responded with "Mark-down-under" E-mail info.
He's still down there but plans to leave the end of this month, if I
recall correctly. I intend to see how close he will be coming to New
Orleans, LA. Is anyone else interested?? As I told him off line, his
lively banter was a great relief to what is, in some respects, a net
which tends to be a "tad" tedious . In that vein, Mr. Phipps has
several points which merit consideration. All work and no play makes
Jack the sailor a dull oarsman, if you catch my drift. I've tried to
interject a little jocularity now and then, with disastrous results, or
did you notice?
However, Mr. Phipps,... one of the attributes of an effort such as this
is not only to encourage conversations between the all important youth
of the group but to enhance, sooth and try to make less noticeable that
ever festering ZIT of adolescence called (of all things)"Growing up".
As always this is done by setting some loosely fabricated boundary of
oratory, literary and social decorum without which, this effort and much
of our scouting program could become a soap box for idiots. Commodore
Johnson and his troops have done an excellent job! To be frank, I
doubt anyone hates you or your ship or its officers. Who has the
time??? Now I must say and with all due respect, I feel you are
letting this thing get out of hand and your insurgency efforts are quite
Now I wonder who has told Bruce Johnson and all the people who have done
such a good job working with and for him....THANK YOU!!! Could I
possibly be the first to say it? NAH that couldn't be... could it..
There is merit in the concern of how many members of a ship have
computers and their net representation. This subject along with the
responsibility of those with computers to represent not only themselves
but the entire ship when they speak on this net, is on our agenda. Is
that not true Bosn Alicia?? We have a representative form of
government and it is not to soon to learn that form of responsibility,
is that not true, Mr. Phipps??
Timidity and intimidation by adults. I don't seem to have a timidity
problem in ship1, I am guilty of intimidation and anything else short of
strangulation to get certain things of immediate import accomplished in
a seaman like manner, but now then we all can't pick our skippers can we
lads n lassies? (Commodores either for that matter)
OK OK I'm off the soap box.... YISS J.R.Erickson, Skipper Ship1 (Home
of the online wimps) HeHeHe.... is that an evil snigger I hear????
PS I love ya Mr. Phipps rally I do....but cut us ole buzzards a little
slack and put a couple of round turns on that hate trash. Hey
.........Alicia , Katie and the GoMo just took the soap box! Bye
