The Fairfield County Council Sea Exploring Squadron will be holding its
Spring Rendezvous at Captain's Cove, Black Rock Harbor, Bridgeport,
Connecticut on June 14 and 15. (This is the new home of the Nantucket
Lightship.) Sail in if you can, though event is accessible by land.
Competition among composite crews as usual, events include CPR, ground
tackle, introduction to yacht racing, light characteristics, navigational
aids & marlinspike (a biathlon!), and semaphore. Educational stations in

There will also be a pick-up team dory round robin. There will be an
opportunity for individuals to be designated "Squadron Navigator" by taking
a standard USPS test and acquiring some token. We will be doing a service
project clean-up of Fayerweather Island using LARC's
(amphibious vehicles) provided by the city.
Ships attend to their own berthing and messing. (Captain's Cove Marina has
its own restaurant which is not open for breakfast.)
Drive-in Ships will be able to go sailing as guests of sail-in Ships on
Sunday wind and weather permitting.
Liberty cuff patches as always. There is a tattoo parlor on the wharf for
the truly salty.
