The State of Michigan Department of Social Services requires a State
Camp License $75.00 for any leaders that conduct a youth activity that
extends more than 4 days. For this reason, we usually include a stay at a
nearby BSA council camp. Since the Council Camps are already licensed, we
can utilize that for our group.
I am starting to file the paperwork for a tour permit for youth to visit
the Washington D.C. area and a day visit to the 1997 National Jamboree. Does
anyone know if the State of Virginia D.S.S. has a similar requirement? Not
all states have this rule, but Michigan is one of the exceptions.
