As I mentioned before, I like the new award very much especially compared
to the old one. I have mixed feelings on the carrick bend. If it came
right down to it, I'd probably vote against it, though.
My favorite "model" for a Scouting award is the Medal of Merit -- the
actual physical quality of it is stupendous (it must have been made in the
50's, though..) The ribbon is stitched together in such a way that it
always hangs correctly and doesn't get bunched up or anything. In
addition, it has a bar across the top but it is covered by the material.
