I think I agree. I just got one as a replacement for my circa 1995
Quartermaster Award, which was a piece of junk. The new medal looks very
good, but the knot doesn't seem tomatch other scouting awards.
Still, I hesitate to complain since I'm sure the national committee spent a
lot of money replacing the junk the BSA put out before. Actually, the only
reason I would even consider not wearing the knot is because none of the
other quartermasters in my unit have one, so it makes me feel pretentious.
A solution would be to replace it with a bar of your own. One mate has
suggested that I purchase a strip for my awards from a military supply
store. Has anyone tried this? He said this would help keep them straight
and would remove the necessity for the knot.
