An explanation of the term, as opposed to the event.
Rendezvous is a corruption of the french sentence:
(There is a diacritic in there, but I can never rember where and can't
type it even if I wanted!)
Rendez: second person, plural form, present tense of the verb gather
Vous: second person, plural form, meaning you, your group, or all of you.
Or, Gather all of you, here.
