Dear fellow Sea Scouters,
Being Coerced into this by our delightfully subtle skipper, Bruce Johnson,
Cyrus Lawyer, and Alex Perry (that would be us) have decided to tell you a
little bit about how our annual ship banquet went.
This past Wednesday we had a very delightful pot-luck dinner (starting at
6:30), that had a lot of spice to it, it wasn't planned this way, but there
turned out to be a lot of Mexican dishes and a whole lot of chili, it was
wonderful "Complementing" our whites. A slide presentation was put together
by Skipper Johnson, which displayed all of our activities from the past 18
months. We had a good representation from the committee and most of the
parents, adding up to a grand total of around 60 people.
After the dinner portion of the program, the ship moved on and proceeded
with our normal land ship boarding ceremony. The Newest ship officers were
installed and 2 new recruits were made Seaman Candidates, through our
A bridge of honor was then held where the members of our ship received
various awards, merit badges, and ranks....including a new ordinary, which
brings the ships number of Ordinaries to 5. That is the most that our ship
has ever had. I hope that means we are doing something right.
The evening ended around 10:00, at which time the explorers proceeded to
clean up and everyone left with a full stomach and lot's of awards. It was
an enjoyable night and I think that every had a blast.
