Salts of the dark gray waters of the Northeast:
Kindly circle the following weekend on you calendar. The flyer will be going
out to in-council Ships and old friends in late April or early May after I get
back from Bahrain. If you wish to be added to our mailing list for the event
please let me know. If you know of others who are internet challenged let

Location: Captain's Cove Marina, Bridgeport, CT
Sponsor: Sea Scout Squadron, CT Yankee Council
Description: Sail-in or drive in.
SATURDAY: All units are asked to Dress Ship to the extent possible. The press
will be there and we will be very much in the public eye. Opening quarters in
uniform. Competition between composite crews in:
Block & Tackle,
Shipbuilding in a Bottle.
There will be an evening cracker-barrel.
SUNDAY: School of the Ships - each Ship is invited to set up an instruction
booth on a sea related subject of their choosing, e.g., canvas work, safety
equipment, ornamental knots, plotting. Guest sailing for Ships without boats
by Ships with boats may be arranged, if wind and conditions permit.
Cost: TBD, early estimate $8.00 per person
Other: No provision for overnight camping. We may be able to arrange berthing
aboard vessels present or with a nearby motel given sufficient advance notice.
Take-out snackbar at marina available for lunch and supper.
*Gam is not an acronym; it is a nautical term that can be found in the
dictionary by the truly curious or quest oriented.
