Trivia -- at various times between 1776 and 1882, western Ohio, all of
Indiana, and eastern Illinois, and points south and west were *all* known
as "Indian Territory" or "Indiana" in the Latin sense. So, if you're
looking at historical documents, you'll find all those places referred to
by either name.
The abbreviation I T seems to be pretty consistently a reference to
modern Oklahoma, though.
