Please do not burden overworked den leaders with den chiefs who have been in a Boy Scout troop for less than a year! Den chiefs are there to help a leader with games and activities, to reach out to Cubs as a "big brother" and encourage them to continue into Boy Scouting. They are expected to be at least a couple of years older than the Cubs! The Cubs do not need a peer, they need someone a little older and more "experienced" to look up to. And the den leader does not need another Cub. I don't care how fast these wonder-kinds have advanced. It's not fair to the den and its leaders just because these boys need "leadership" time.
