Team 590 just returned from a 50 mil canoe trip on Ross Lake, Washington. 6
adults and 4 Varsity Scouts made the trip. The weather was great except the
last 1.5 days when we had some rain-mostly at night, and some stiff head
winds for out paddle out to Colonial Creek Campground. The scenery is
spectacular (words fail me for once ), the camp sites are good and the park
service is currently installing bear boxes and tent pads at all the sites.
they even provide toilet paper in the toilets-what a deal!
Ross Lake is a nice introduction to canoeing because it has no portages
except for the dam, and you get trucked over that.
thanks to everyone who sent suggestions to help us prepare for this trip;
mosquito repellant to cooking, etc.
