We have walkie talkies among the troop leadership (i.e. not owned by the
troop, but owned by individuals IN the troop).
They can be quite useful in both the travel situation (organize pit
stops/gas stops, changes in route due to detours/traffic/weather). We have
used them successfully at campouts to coordinate arrival/departure for

I vote yes, and they are not overly expensive (I'm seriously thinking about
getting a pair).
