Those "signed" messages on newgroups will get you plonked fairly fast
too. (g) Some of us are still on dial-up modems, and sitting there while
someone's fancy, and animated yet!, business card downloads is so
frustrating I rarely read the message. And if I'm seeming unforgiving
about the delete key, remember, I sift through close to 500 messages a
day, as well as all my other duties-as-assigned.
There really isn't much to be done about MIME, it's a standard i-net
format and the news-servers/mail-servers should deal with it invisibly.
Using a non-American code page for your keyboard, as many overseas or who
work with an off-continent customer-base DO, is a problem because some of
us see the the code not what it's meant to represent. +ack for instance.
