This post is NOT about any of the 3 G's, but about how we treat each other.
You know, no matter how you feel about the Dale decision and the BSA's
policy on homosexual leaders & Scouts, there is such a thing as being
polite, civil, and respectful.
These Scouts were an honor guard for the flag of our country, and as such
should be treated politely at least.
These Scouts were not responsible for BSA policy.
Now, while I agree with the Supreme Court's decision in principle -- that
BSA has a right to determine who can be a member -- I am not sure that we
should exclude homosexuals. I haven't made up my mind on that score yet.
But even were I to decide that we should accept homosexual members, I would
not verbally attack a group of boys who were merely trying to do their duty
to their country. These people did more to hurt their cause -- at least in
my eyes -- than they did to help it. You won't convince me that you're
right by yelling at Boy Scouts.
