Why yes we certainly do use youth as part of our staff. Of course they
usually are the sons of the adult staff.
We use them in parts of the "Delivering the Promise" opening. We also allow
them, if willing and capable, to teach certain of the hands-on round robin
portions - fire building is the natural that comes to mind and they always
like to show off their skill. They are usually gald to help the resident
Dutch Oven master with his creations that he does to show off how simple some
DO recipes are.
They also help in logistics and to set up areas for the next event, such as
preparing the fire pits for the water-boiling competion and restoring the
