Poor wording, Bob. Those figures were for all of weekend trip but the
thing usually was that there was little difference in the actual meals
regardless of what was spent.
We arranged a cooking contest with another nearby troop to take place at a
camporee. Their older boy patrol, in an effort to completely run away with
the competition served shrimp and several other costly and "exotic" entrees
(word was that each boy had contributed $8 dollars toward the meal. The
winning patrol? My new boy patrol with good old scout burgers and plain
cake mix cobbler. Their exotic offering was a plain lettuce and tomato
salad with homemade dressing made from ingredients at hand.
