WOW! I've got to know! did the $10 patrol have veal scaloppini and the $25
patrol have surf and turf?
Our 30 + boy troop usually does the 2 District camporees where everything is
done by patrol. After years of what others have described in the way of one
adult or another being "stiffed" and far, far too much time spent haranguing
boys and parents about money, we now include in the yearly dues funds to
cover both events including food. This amounts to $30 per boy added to the
dues. This is with the understanding that there are NO refunds if the boy
does not make the events.
Now, each patrol budget is under the control of the SPL and ASPL, (with SM
or other adult approval and veto powers) Whoever is accompanying the boys
to buy food has absolutely no say in what is purchased except to provide
guidance (no Jimmy, filet mignon is not what one buys for stew....)
Any adult not able to deal with the troop being boy run has to deal with me,
believe me, they don't wan to "go there"
