Good Luck Jerry
We had to deal with a Boy in our Troop for years that walked in his sleep.
Tying the tent shut would not work. He would untie it in his sleep.
One night he got up and took a shower in his sleep and never woke up.
His bunk mate tried to tie a rope around the scouts ankle and his own.
You guessed it he just untied it and still went for a walk.
What finally worked for us was just to tie bells on the flap of his tent.
It would wake up someone and they could lead him back to bed.
Also make sure the Scout is getting enough sleep this seem to help
since it usually happens more when they are overly tired.
Like I said Good luck

Subject: Sleep Walking
+AD4-While at Webelos resident camp earlier this week I had a new experience
+AD4-I could use some advice from the group on. We had a young man sleep walk
+AD4-the first time, according to his father who was also at camp. Our camp was
+AD4-awoken to a blood curdling scream +ACY- yells for help+ACE- The camper had sleep
+AD4-walked out of camp and down a steep wooded embankment into a ravine. He
+AD4-up at the bottom of the ravine (without much needed glasses +ACY- shoes) +ACY-
+AD4-when the screaming began. He was quickly retrieved, returned to his tent,
+AD4-calmed as much as possible.
+AD4-The next night we made sure his tent flaps were tied +ACY- made sure he wasn't
+AD4-wearing socks when he went to bed. We thought this might circumvent any
+AD4-further sleep walking sessions.
+AD4-In addition to sleep walking....we had to deal with a raccoon invasion, and
+AD4-severe thunderstorm the very same night. To say we got very little sleep
+AD4-would be an understatement. Even so....we still had a GREAT time at camp+ACE-
+AD4-Any recommendations on how to deal with sleep walking in the future? This
+AD4-quite scary for the boy +ACY- all the leaders. I'd like to be prepared to help
+AD4-this boy deal with this in the future if possible. Any thoughts would be
