Ken, I am not a chemist. But, I can pass along some
anecdotal experience. When I was young, my dad and I
would venture off into the wilds of Arizona in his big
'ol green Ford 4x4. About twice a year, our
wanderlust outdid our common sense, and we ran out of
gas. On those occasions, Dad would dump in all the
Coleman fuel we happened to have, usually a gallon and
Every time, it was enough to get us to Cordes
Junction, where we'd get gas and goodies.
No ill effects from burning Coleman fuel in the Green
Goose were ever noticed. Bouncing the truck off
various boulders and rocks were another story.
I can't resist: "Your mileage may vary".
