Nice rant Anthony ! <VBG>
As far as any discussion is concerned, I have one question and one
suggestion. Question: You mention speaking to the senior staff, did that
include the Camp Director? That's who I would have gone to directly,
especially regarding his staff response.
My suggestion: Vote on this camp with your feet, next year take your troop
elsewhere. By all means let the camp director, the camping chair and even
the council executive know exactly why you are not going to be putting your
cash into their coffers next year. An inferior camp for what ever reason,
does not deserve support for any reason, that it is your own council's camp
makes no difference whatsoever in where to take your troop.
That said, I think it IS important that if your own council has a camp you
think is inferior in some way and fails to meet your needs than you should
make it clear to all what your feelings are regarding it. I don't mean to
suggest that as a busy SM you need to volunteer to fix it, but, bringing the
subject up at round tables or writing letters is the least you can do.
