Actually....Participating Citizenship is one of the 3 IDEALS of Scouting
worldwide, and one of the main bases that Baden Powel identified as a
foundation for the entire international movement. He felt, as I read his
writing, that if we could teach our youth to be responsible, informed
participating citizens, that would lead to world peace.
That said..............we are (those of us who are REGISTERED in the
movement....NOT allowed to support any ONE party, or ONE candidate ....by
RULES AND REGULATIONS. We are, however, expected to support the political
system, and in our country that is voting, and our kids can distribute,
"get out the vote" flyers. Just NOT for one party.
