Welcome to Scouts-L!!

How close? Are we talking one or two merit badges or are we
talking "standing around and waiting for the Board of Review??"

I envy you and every other Scout and Scouter going to NOAC. I
had made plans originally to attend NOAC this summer, and then
almost as I started to make those plans, The Army had developed
plans of their own for me. I am not still sure about those final
plans...in our household, Patrick, the rule is that "no plans are
made until the orders have arrived."
So please have a great time for me and all of the other folks who
wished they could be among the two thousand or so attending
NOAC this summer....

In other words, Patrick, you haven't let the dust settle on your
boots at all...which is good as long as you're having fun doing all of

While Scouts-L is primarily populated by adults, I am sure that
there are Scout sons or daughters of Scouters whom are a part of
this forum whom would be happy to post to you and start a
conversation. I hope that those Scouters here whom feel that our
list is "solely for adults" rethink their thoughts, for Scouts-L has
always been a forum for youth leaders (and the last time I saw a
definition of what makes up a "youth leader", that definition did
include the youth leadership of our Boy Scout and Girl Scouts
Troops and Varsity Scout Teams. As Patrick identified himself as
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of his Troop, that to *me* qualifies
him for a "stomp" around our virtual fire as much as it does me.)
Again, Patrick, welcome...we'll keep your stomp over there while
you're gone to NOAC; and do come back and post from time to
time and let us know how we can help you and other Scouts.
Settummanque! (I'm back; kinda....I'm using my honies' computer
this evening but I've got a laptop, see....)
