Recently, a youth posted an introductory message to
the group. Usually, this type of post is read and
goes without comment. However, this young man
received a message which told him to go away, as he is
unwelcome here, albeit "softened" with a smiley-face.
I hopped on that like a bass on a june bug. Why?
very simple. Had it been adult-to-adult, I would've
grimaced and moved on -- I don't have a dog in that
fight. But, this is adult-to-youth. That causes
instant conflagration of my posterior regions.

members. We're here to support them, not confuse the
heck out of them. Even if this youth did "get it" and
took it as humorous, others might not.
So, I am expressing my irritation with what I see as
maybe not the best way to speak to one of our younger
Adults, you want to engage in verbal warfare, go for
it. Don't bad-mouth to or in front of the youth.
Oh, and just to make it clear: ":)"
