And that's all you will find. BSA is not the military.
Build your case based on how you feel about wearing the uniform. Does it
promote pride? Does it generated group unity? You obviously feel strongly,
then it is up to you to educate troop adults and leadership as to why you
think it is important.
When I was a new SM I too did not feel very strongly about uniform wear,
some very thoughtful and genuinely helpful Scouters educated me. While I
doubt that the uniform rules in effect in my troop would please everyone, I
