However, I do favor cots at summer camp. The boys sleep on the ground all
year, but since you are missing many other amenities over the week or two
of summer camp, having the cots makes it a little more special, and give
more storage space and more room in the tents during the week.
Personal opinion only, mind you. YMMV.
