This is what they give you at Philmont for precisely that reason. They are,
and they are.
And FYI the active ingredients in Clorox are dissociated in water (that's
what it is, a solution) into sodium, chlorine, & hydrogen molecules. It is
not possible to develop an allergy to these basic building blocks of our
local area of the universe. Nor is it possible for bacteria to develop
resistance to them (alcohol's another) for the same reason, which is why
infetious disease folks recommend chlorine bleach or alcohol for sanitizing
surfaces or handwashing instead of all those "antibacterial" soaps or wipes.
Not that sanitizing surfaces is always necessary, either <G>. People were
engineered to deal with a certain amount of commensal activity and if we
don't give our immune systems something to do they will often go out and find
something to make trouble <G>. You want to talk about worms and asthma <G>?
