Camp Tesomas, Samoset Council's camp, uses a five-part, non-carbon
reproduction form to track Merit Badge and advancement class
attendance and progress. Each evening the counselor places your
troop's "NCR's" into a troop mailbox. NCR's are due before the
counselor goes to bed, so we typically see the ones from the morning
class before Supper and the afternoon classes show up prior to
breakfast the next morning. If "Joey" skips Instructional Swim on
Tuesday (which he did, by the way) we know about it and can talk to
him about it before the class on Wednesday. If Joey would have had a
good reason for missing class that would have been the end of it.
Instead he just "forgot" to go and ended up wandering around camp. I
reminded him about the buddy system and that his dad was coming up
Wednesday and would want to know what he had been doing. Guess what?
Joey went to swimming on Wednesday morning.
