My 17 year old son invited a friend over for dinner last night. Learning how
involved our family is in Scouts, my son's friend told us that he joined a Troop
last year (he was 16), but quit because the SM kept telling him he was wasting
his time because he was to old and didn't have enough time to get Eagle. My son
said, come join our Troop, it's all run by the boys, the adults are cool and we
have lot's of fun.
Scoutmaster's sons get more than their fair share of Scouting, so I've always
wondered how my two would look back on their scouting experience when they were
adults. I think one just told me. Thanks Neal for reminding us that Scouting
survives today because of the fun we had yesterday. I love this Scouting Stuff.
