This subject came around some time ago. The basic answer was: The BSA does
not prohibit them (thank goodness :>), but some scout camps did prohibit
those small hammocks with no spreader bars and others prohibited all
hammocks. Something about the potential of back injuries if you fall out.
I think the small hammocks were taken off the market for safety reasons.
So check with your local scout camp before you string 'er up. And if it's
ok, try not to snore too loudly during instructional sessions :>)
