him emphasizing the opportunities to learn from this for the future
may turn into a win-win.
I'm not sure I would agree with this. My take is that the SPL gave
advance notice that he would not be going. The ASPL did what he was
supposed to do. Stepped in and took the place of the SPL. The SPL
then had a change in plans and is now able to perform the duties of
his office. He should therefore step back into the role as the SPL.
It is the same thing in principle as when the SPL cannot make meeting
night-- the ASPL assumes the duty in his absence. If he arrives late
to the meeting, he then resumes his role as SPL and the ASPL has done
There is no lose-lose or win-win. It sounds to me as if your boys are
just doing their job. Let the SPL do what he was elected to do.
