I am CR for our Pack, Troop, and Crew.
Recently I requested and received copies of the unit rosters from
council service center.
I was amazed that only two adults were listed as TRAINED.
The Scoutmaster, on the Troop Roster
The Venturing Advisor, on the Venturing Crew Roster.
Absolutely no one on the Pack Roster.
As CR I have taken most of the available training over the past 20+
years (except Wood Badge - shame on me). A very large percentage of our
registered adults are also trained (to various degrees) but this
information appears as a very obvious "N" on the rosters. We are
talking about 20-30 registered leaders.
My question is - Who is responsible for assembling and maintaining the
"Trained" records when such training is completed? I was under the
impression that since the District (or Council) provided the training,
that these records were forwarded to Council Services and then
integrated into the unit and individual records.
It appears that, in our case, this has not occurred; certainly it has
not been updated to the unit rosters. I do not have copies of the annual
charters to see if the information was included on them.
So, how do you do it in your Units, Districts, and Councils?
Please excuse the cross-posting.
