Several years ago when living in Charleston, S.C. my oldest daughters Cadette Girl Scout Troop needed a leader and none of the moms would volunteer(My wife was already on local Council Staff and a Brownie Leader your younger daughter) So I took it on with the provision that a Mom had to to be at each meeting and on any activity. It worked great! I am still involved with Girl Scouts but to a lesser degree. In addition my wife was Scoutmaster for our Troop a few years ago when no male's would step forward and my scheduled precluded me and she was successful. She is also Woodbage(Owl) and active in OA. She contiunes to be active with our current troop and helps on District events. I am a former Scoutmaster and now am a District Commissioner. I see roles for males and females in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. We all do this for the kids don't we?
