No, no, I was referring to the Eagle boxes. The SPL gives out the rank
advancement on the night the boy has the Board of Review (in a very nice
little ceremony the boys developed, BTW). Then at the next CoH they kids get
the cards and recognition to the families.
I believe in immediate recognition... when my boy got his Eagle OK back from
National (last May), the SPL presented him his Eagle patch so he could wear
it all summer as camp staff and to his Philmont trek. His Eagle Court was in
early Sept. It was an eye-opener to many people who thought you couldn't be
an Eagle until after the CoH. I asked them the simple question, "Do you hold
all advancement until a CoH? Then why is this any different?" Actually, there
were two advancements presented that night-- Perry's Eagle and a new
Tenderfoot. It was a defining moment.
